Pilates Ladder Barrel
The Pilates Barrel comes in 3 separate sizes and each one is an intrigue part of any comprehensive Pilates Studio. The three types are
1. The Pilates Ladder Barrel
2. The Step Barrel / Spine Corrector
3. The Pilates Baby Arc
Each has a rounded barrel-like surface that helps isolate deep postural muscles and challenges the body on all planes of movement.
As the name suggests the Pilates Ladder Barrel consists of ladder-like rungs and rounded barrel-like surface on which a multitude of stretching, strengthening and flexibility exercises can be performed.
The Pilates Ladder barrel is separated from the ladder by a sliding base that can adjust to accommodate different torso sizes and leg lengths in a range of Pilates exercises. The ladder rungs – four to six in total – are also adjustable to facilitate varying levels of fitness.
The Pilates Spine Corrector also known as the Step Barrel is designed to focus on the core abdominal, back, and shoulder muscles. By stretching and working these muscles out with the specific Pilates exercises for the barrel, ‘humpback’ is shown to disappear and spine correction occurs. Additionally, the chest muscles are also worked out, which improves breathing for a better night of sleep and throughout the day.
The Pilates Spine Corrector/ Step Barrel can treat many other problems as well; scoliosis, osteoporosis, arthritis and many others. With strong core muscles, the body can be stable and move properly again, so why wait any longer to improve your back posture?

Many exercises can be performed on the Pilates Barrels. These tools can perk up your muscles and streamline the functioning of the entire body.
As we advance in age, the muscles keep on weakening. This causes our spine to lose its natural curve. The Pilates Barrel strengthens the abdominal, back and shoulder muscles to keep the spine strong and supple. The chest opens up, shoulders straighten, and the hump back (if any) can disappear. An open chest facilitates easer and deeper breathing.
